Bealtaine, Birthdays and Wellness events

So it does feel like summer is on it’s way, my garden is exploding with growth and there’s a nice bit of colour – I got some plants as part of my Christmas present, they only arrived the other week, so it’s perfect to get them in the ground. Looking forward to growing Vitex agnus-castus and valerian, I haven’t planted either of these in my garden before, so that will be exciting to see them grow, grow! Bealtaine is upcoming next week – midway between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. One of the Fire Festivals of the Celtic calendar. It’s also a Full Moon tonight (24/04), here in Ireland, a great time to write down what you wish to LET GO of, anything that no longer serves you, and then set the list on fire and send it off into the sky, safely. And if you have any crystals, or a Himalayan salt lamp put them in the moonlight, to cleanse them and charge them up.

There is a BIG birthday in our house at the end of the week, my twins turn 18! I seriously, cannot believe it. It feels nuts to think I’ve nearly raised 3 adults, well legally they are! They have their Leaving Cert to look forward to in June! I think we might all have a big bash after that is over. So that’s the end of an era, no one left in our house, going to school, I’m not sad I have to say. Looking forward to our next phase of life. No uniforms, lunches, nagging (well maybe that will continue for a while yet!) but I’m excited to see where we will be in another 12 months’ time.

My own Art, Craft and Design course assessment began on Monday last, all our artwork, sketch books and drawings had to be handed in and set up on a desk space. I filled 3 sketch books, handmade 2 other sketchbooks and half filled another small sketch book… a lot of research around my topic of Sheela na Gig. I managed to get to see the collection in the Crypt of the National Museum, in Dublin a couple of weeks ago. And filled a small sketch book with notes on the Sheelas and pictures I took. It was a wonderful time spent in the basement with the Sheelas. I hope to get back for another peek at them in the summertime. So it’s been a busy time, since last September since starting the course, so I’m looking forward to it being not so busy for a few months of the summer. Enjoying the weather ( I hope) and my garden more.

I’m also facilitating a private Yoga – Sound Bath Meditation event for a group of hiking midwives! They are not delivering babies while hiking, but some well deserved time off!

Last week, I was in our local National School, teaching 1st to 6th class Yoga and breathwork – that was fun! I learned a good way to describe a Mountain pose was Mountainous – gotta love it.

Looking forward to myself and the Sound Babies travelling around in May!

Of course, my one-to-one practice is still onging – Acupuncture, Craniosacral and Sound therapy – in Gort

Hope to see you somewhere on the road

Bealtaine Blessings
